✨ A New Smile, Just in Time! ✨
This lovely patient came to us a couple of weeks before her son’s wedding, hoping to boost her confidence and refresh her smile after years of dental wear. 💍 We were thrilled to help her achieve just that with a couple of crowns on the front teeth for a refreshed, beautiful smile. 😁
We also fitted her with a custom night guard to protect her new smile from any future damage. 🦷✨
Feeling great about your smile is a game-changer, especially when it’s for a special moment like this. Wishing her all the best as she celebrates her son’s big day! 💐
✨Smile Transformation✨
This patient came to us with a history of missing laterals and facial trauma which resulted in the early loss of his front teeth. We were able to place immediate implants and restore his smile to best match his original shape and shade.
My favorite part of this case was the creative thinking and extensive understanding of materials involved to create lasting results. Every person enters our office with a unique set of circumstances and goals. It’s our job and privilege to come up with the best treatment plan for you! 😁
Transforming lives, one smile at a time. 😁 This patient presented lacking confidence in his smile after years of wear and tear, broken fillings, and old failing composites. As an Army Vet, he did not have access to dental services for a number of years. After a full smile analysis and careful consideration; we were able to come up with a very natural and esthetic result that left the patient glowing! 🌟
“If you are successful, it is because somewhere, sometime, someone gave you a life or an idea that started you in the right direction. Remember also that you are indebted to life until you help some less fortunate person, just as you were helped.” – Melinda Gates 👯♀️
During a time when it was uncommon for women to become dentists (nor were they welcomed in the industry), my mother persevered. For that, I am incredibly lucky🍀—she has been my rock, my mentor, and now my colleague.
When it comes to tackling complex cases or discussing something I want to learn more about, she’s there to listen. Whether I’m dealing with failure or success, I always know I have support (and know she’s also probably dealt with the same situations!).
Today I feel gratitude for the wonderful, confident women who have empowered me to pursue my dreams—without any hesitations. I look up to each and everyone of you and hope to inspire others in the same way. 💪🦷
Happy (Belated) National Dentist Day!! I would not be half the provider I am today without help from my fellow colleagues and the amazing patients I have had the incredible opportunity to work with.
Although the dentist may not be everyone’s favorite place, your dentist spends countless hours on training and education to provide the best possible care to each individual patient— that includes you!
Smile on 🦷💕
Don’t try this at home... 😬
Did you know?! While in dental school, in order to achieve a certain level of understanding how our patients will feel [in the dental chair], we practice procedures on our classmates first‼️
These firsthand experiences are extremely valuable — dentists truly take them to heart!💗
Growing up, one of my biggest fears was getting any type of injection — I unfortunately needed to face this fear of mine [in the dental chair] more than I would have liked to.
If a patient of mine is coming in with similar fears, I have found it essential to spend some additional time understanding where the fear and/or discomfort has come from. I take every opportunity to make their experience as comfortable as possible. This sets us both up for success during the procedure and paves the way for successful long-term patient relationships.
This #throwback photo is of my first time providing an injection! Imagine how my classmate felt knowing it was my first time! 😳
“2 times a day, morning and night, for 2 minutes every time.” 😁
Brushing can be a difficult habit to retain, and if done incorrectly, could potentially be harmful to your oral health‼️Studies have shown that many people, especially adolescents, tend to miss key areas within their mouth while brushing. I like to remind patients that since 2 minutes is the recommendation, try to focus on spending 30 seconds in each of the 4 areas within your mouth (similar to the settings of many electric toothbrushes you find today). 🦷
Key Notes:
1. Place your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle to your tooth, towards your gums and move in a circular motion 🌀
2. Use light pressure (I like to recommend using a soft bristle toothbrush), allowing the bristles of the brush to remove bacteria. Like a vacuum, pressing harder will not improve your end result and could ultimately reduce your gum tissue or enamel strength long term 💪
3. Avoid brushing for 30 minutes after consuming any acidic food/drinks (this includes after vomiting) 🤢
4. Avoid rinsing out your mouth after brushing! You want to allow the minerals in your toothpaste (like Flouride) time to absorb within your enamel 🙃
Brush away, smile on! 🤩
Enamel is the outer most layer of our teeth 🦷 — providing protection from the external environment while allows your to smile shine. 🤩 The minerals that make up enamel are even stronger than your bones! Similar to how bones can fracture and breakdown overtime, there are various strategies to protect our teeth from various elements that break down these minerals. ⠀
⠀
In order to protect enamel, it is recommended to avoid food or drinks that have the ability to erode this mineral (hydroxyapatite). This includes carbonated soda, acidic foods, and sugary sweets 🍬🚫. If you decide to indulge in such dietary habits, try to consume all the food or drink in one sitting to allow time for your mouth to return to its desired state of equilibrium. DRINK LOTS OF WATER 💦, especially after consumption to wash away any leftover particles.⠀
⠀
Don’t forget, Keep on Smiling! 😁
