So What Really Is A Cosmetic Dental Procedure?

March 31, 2015

Cosmetic dentistry is a dental procedure that enhances the appearance of a patient's teeth or gums and always results in a more enhanced smile.

A bunch of dice with the word smile written on them

We specialize in several ways to create a smile "makeover" that our patients have loved. There are quite a few ways we can accomplish the result we and our patients desire.

  • Dental Implants - we can replace missing teeth with these and can also hold down loose dentures with them. They are comfortable and when done correctly look just as natural as an original tooth.
  • Bonding - We can improve the look of broken or discolored teeth . Also we can make teeth longer or close gaps between the teeth.
  • Dental Veneers - these are custom lab fabricated thin shapes of porcelain that are bonded to the surface of anterior teeth to change the color or shape of damaged or misaligned teeth. The result is a bright beautiful natural looking smile.
  • Dentures - These are also used to replace missing teeth, but unlike implants they can be removed. We can replace just a few teeth or an entire arch of teeth depending on the needs of our patient. If more support or retention is needed we can hold them tight with implants under the denture.
  • Minor tooth movement - This is a very popular way to move anterior teeth without braces. We can fix or realign tipped or twisted teeth. We can also close spaces or eliminate crowding with this procedure. It takes more or less time depending on the severity of what we are trying to accomplish.
  • Crowns or bridges - These are used to completely restore teeth that are severely broken or decayed and to replace missing teeth. Similar to implants they are permanent and look very natural. We can do one at a time or multiple teeth depending on what is needed to restore beauty and function.
  • Teeth Whitening - A wonderful easy way to lighten teeth up with amazing results.
